                                                                                         Children's

All of my life I was told that I had to give in and not argue or rock the boat if I disagreed with someone /or if someone did something to me that I did not like. I was especially told never to disagree with family members even if they were mean to me and threw sand at me or made me feel awful when I could not do something. Everyone thought that it would be easier if I just said as the kids do today: Okay and Whatever: Not any more. In this book Bertha finds her voice and she lets everyone know that she has had enough and will not take it any more.

In this book, Bertha has to deal with several issues in school and at home:
1. The Contest: Teacher who would not enter her composition on Fire Prevention because her aunt was a teacher in the school and she thought she wrote it for her at home and she just copied her ideas when she wrote it in school

2. Mistakes are for Everyone Except Bertha: Writing tests over if she did not get 100 and the pressure of getting A’s and perfect scores on tests

3. Weight loss boot camp

4. Burning money in the oven

5. Last story dedicated to my mom

Bertha is now in Middle School and learns to deal with bullies, being over weight and having an aunt as a teacher in her school making it hard for her to deal with her sixth grade teacher. Bertha is really smart and has a great sense of humor. She is a positive role model for all children and parents in showing everyone how to deal with difficult situations in a positive way.

ROOM FOR ONE MORE by Author Jane Ellen Harris

      $11.98 - 24 Pages

Author's Website - JANE ELLEN HARRIS

   Children's Book 4  - 8 Year olds

Room For One More, the first in a series of books, is based on the adventures of actual animals that lived on a real farm. This farm was special, you see, the farm lady; welcomed many of the animals that lived there because they had no where else to go, no one wanted them. Her motto was "There is always room for one more".

As the story unfolds we meet Doris, a no nonsense light brown hen, who has taken it upon herself to keep things running smoothly on the farm. The sun is just coming up and it's another wonderful morning.Doris is sitting on the fence enjoying the piece and quiet when all of a sudden there is a commotion out by the barn. She sees Ethel and Sophia , two large hens, at it again. Seems they are always arguing over one little thing or another. They haven't been on the farm long but they sure keep Doris on her toes. She jumps off the fence and off she goes to settle another argument. She has a way of always making things better.

On the other side of the yard, Little Black Chicken is off on another adventure. In spite of his odd shaped little body he is a happy, good natured little chicken. He is very shy and has very few friends, or so it seems. On this particular morning the splashing and laughter of the baby ducks playing in their pool has caught his attention. He is too small to see over the side of the pool and as he tries to find a way to watch the baby ducks he soon realizes he is way to close to the action. UH OH! Later he discovers that life is much more fun than he ever imagined.
